My first exposure to Alzheimer's was as a caregiver to my mom who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2017 and lost her battle in July 2024. Inspired to help put an end to this debilitating disease, I got involved in the Walk to End Alzheimer's as a team captain the last several years. I was invited in 2022 to join the Board of Directors for the South Texas Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. Recently, I have been asked to become Chairman of the Board, through June of 2028, which I have accepted.

Fundraising is key to our success. I have been a member of the annual gala committee and co-sponsor of a major fundraising event annually in support of the Walk to End Alzheimer's.
